you've just had your arse severly spanked by a 12m bowkite and you stand, tea-bagging on the beach, where your board has washed in... only to have the board "roll" 20m up the beach in the wind!

I thought it was over that day!

Bring it ON!

when half the yachts in the marina had their had their sails and biminis ripped to shreds, everyone's sketchy about it being triple overhead and it'll be stronger tomorrow.

...when all of the seabreeze W.A. wind graphs peak at 50 knots and then fall suddenly silent as they are blown off their mountings

...when you have to wear a full length steamer, boots, gloves and motor cycle helmet in high summer at Scarbs to prevent layers of skin being removed as you try and pump up.

...when you pull up in the carpark at Scarbs and find waves breaking against the ashphalt only to find out every grain of sand has been blown to Hillaries and the beaches are gone....and that Hillaries "Dunes" are now covered in motocross bikes, 4WD's and dune buggies

Then you need a Halo 7.0

When you weigh 90kgs, you're on your 8m fully depowered and you're still getting pulled downwind off your edge. (That's why I just went down to get myself a 5m)

when theres a cyclone off shore and you and your mates try and kite it..
1st attempt.. 35-40knots 6m kite.. FAILED we ended up hiding behind our boards because the rain and sand hurt so much..

2nd attempt.. wind died off to 25-36 knots.. 8m kite's AWSOME sweet as boostin sesh.. only proplem was the squalls coming thru with the rain.. ment we coulnd'nt see more then 5m ahead and you couln't look anywhere but downwind cause of the rain.

if your talking about the 5 knot limit and others
unlike boating (speed boats), there is no speed restictions just the same as small yachts. there are a whole number of exemptions for kiters in the rule book.

try telling that to maritime queensland. they state we are are a vessel and have to follow the SIX knot rule in currumbin alley. p.s. its windy when your at school with the windows open and lose your papers

Racking my brains from my boat licence but I *think* that rule only applies to powered vessels, or vessels under power (eg a yaught using aux motor). Anyone who knows better feel free to correct me. I doubt a kiteboard could be classed a vessel any more than a surfboard. Just don't fly your kite in restricted airspace
