Hi Guys,
I am going to WA from 27th December until 7th January. I am from Melbourne and do not know the WA coast at all. I would really like to make the most of it with only one objective: KITESURFING!
I was planing to go to Monkey Mia straight away and driving down to Margaret River.... But I am not sure it worth to go there at the time of the year....
I rented a 4WD and would like to move and see the best spots you have...
Can you please advice me where to go? which spots north and south of Perth?
Where is the best to be for NYE?
Thank you so much for your precious help and hopefully see you there!

Here is a start...mostly Perth metro> http://waksa.org.au.86.aspwebhosting.com.au/locations_list.aspx
The whole coast is kite country....this time of year there is wind most every where but always getting stronger as you move N. Start in Esperance then go Margs area. on to Australind for flat then Metro., but do not waste too much time and go North with small kites.
Hopefully we will be out of winter by the time Xmas rolls around....still frontal here.
It's a bit of a drive to go up north but well worth it.
As gruezi said don't waste your time just take your small kites it should be very windy by now and hot as well. I was there just a few weeks ago and the wind was blowing every day from about 10am.
Have a look on my web site (in my profile) under Coral coast.

Definately go north. I came over hear like you for a holiday and went north to Lancelin, geraldton, monkey mia etc etc. There are some epic spots that you'll probably kite by yourself .The wind up there is awesome. I spent 4 days at monkey's once and it blew 20 to 25 knts all day and night I've been there three time now. Yes north is a long way but well worth it. Best bet to get up early and drive so your at a kite spot by lunch pumping up and kiteing till the sun goes down a couple of coldies, bit of dinner dreaming of the next day, sweet as. I loved it so much I moved here. W.A. is the sh#t for kiteing. I'ts a long way from perth to Margrets then to Monkey's I'd just go north but that me I love up there.
Have a sweet trip pal.
