Hey everyone,
Im finishing up my thesis, and currently looking for a reference on the speed record by Rob Douglas. Im looking for the speed and the heading relative to true wind. From the world sailing record speed council, the only available data is the speed, 55.65 kts. Anyone has any idea where I can get hold of the heading? or atleast the setup of the 500m run. I've found the true wind direction was north-westly to northerly southerly when they did it.
Thanks!
Mus

if you cant get it, look at the flags on the beach relative to the channel. you'd get some pretty good approximations. using 55knots you could also estimate the bearing, use a little pythagoras and find the apparent angle and degree of shift.

Contact tim pumpa from Adelaide. He holds the aus record that was recorded at luderitz. I'm sure he would be happy to help.

He can be found on FB or contact saksa they could put you in touch with him.
