Great experience this avo:(
Kite school leading by example
Flying training kite with skate board up and down the already narrow busy road taking photos,
Untangling lines on the road,
And to top it, making it nice and easy for other kiters, teaching on edge of water with kites at 12 o'clock on a southerly in launch/ landing area
+1
Can see it's going to be a good season already
For complaints regarding the kite schools operating at Woodman point contact Nathan Johnston, Recreation Development Officer at City of Cockburn.
You can reach him at njohnston01@cockburn.gov.au or 94113654.
I reckon Number is right on the money giving out this info.
A big part of the reason Cockburn have gone through the process of issuing permits is so there can be control over school operations at Woodies - as it should be.
I have one of the permits.
I would like to think anyone that has a complaint about the KSS operation would 1) contact me for a chat about it; and then; if that didnt adequately resolve the issue; 2) follow Numbers advice & report it to Nathan at CCC.
For the record - NO instructor should be teaching anywhere near the Beach 1 launch & land area.
Good old Elemental Kiteboarding still giving Woodies a bad name!
I'm making the call.. 94113654.

No Noobs I'm not,
but isn't that where all the corporate power brokers for multi-national
companies pull the political strings to manipulate our Muppet polies
into thinking they know what's best for the sheeple without regard to
individuals thoughts, beliefs or personal preferences?
Usually the best solutions to any issue don't involve authoritarian gits
with no idea telling people that don't know what there doing, what to
Do!

Well, from my understanding that was the case up until the end of last season.
Then...
They are generally only passing through and continue to teach in the busiest part of the beach, upsetting all the local kitesurfers and endangering their students who at this stage do not know any better, she advises.
Additionally, this is engraining disrespectful and dangerous behaviour amongst the beginners.

So whoever opened the pandoras box labeled "Council" will have to face the consequences of it ![]()
Hey Phil,
"For the record - NO instructor should be teaching anywhere near the Beach 1 launch & land area."
are you quoting a regulation or your opinion?
( I hope it is actually a regulation, it would make sense)
Elemental had trainer kites up right in the launch area on Sat and Sun, sometimes 2 at the same time.
I found that rather irritating.
Thanks for clarifying
they should be teaching down the other end of the beach carolyn will learn soon enough im sure she's not that dumb
