I was talking to a meteorologist at the airport 2 weeks ago and he mentioned Geraldton was the 4th most windy place on planet earth.
Cross shore winds make it good for down the line wave riding too.

Sardegna is great and uncrowded.
Costa del sole gets plenty of warm wind too.
Gets windy for kiting everywhere, sometime or another really...

windiest, west coast tassie. Any west coast in the roaring forties for that matter.

North Queensland coast from Port Douglas to the Torres Straights is consistently very windy from about April to October, with trade winds, not seabreezes.

Easy way to check this out is the BoM wind roses page:

reg.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/wind/selection_map.shtml

comparing Gero at 3pm over the whole year (upper pic) to Cooktown at 3pm over the whole year (lower pic):

Wellington/NZ is one of the most consistently windiest spots I know of. Kiting there is a different story...

just a note, but there's quite a few kitesurfers in Wellington New Zealand, and we do get a TON of wind, though it's gusty as most days.
