Winching, can anyone tell me how it's done, what equipment/set up you need etc?

I've heard about it on here a bit, but a search doesn't give me what I need to know.
Can anyone help please?
Info, links, pictures etc are all welcome.

Thanks guys

Are you planing on building a winch or buying a winch??

Try checking these sites out heaps on info on Winching

http://www.wakeboarding-winch.com/portal.php

www.iwinchglobal.com/forum.html

And google it heaps of vids on youtube and info on building your own winch

Myself and a couple of mates are in the process of building a Winch we have a 9hp motor and have ordered a Centrifugal Clutch or you can us a Torgue Converter build a frame a few more bits and pieces and your off

Great for those days when there's no wind

Cheers guys

I'd be up for buying or building, depending on how easy/hard it is.
It sounds like a lot of fun.

Its pretty easy to build one... Budget around $1500 with some mates who can help steal some alloy and stainless parts for you. Check out wakeboarding-winch.com for all the info you need. Buy your engine off Ebay - buy a TAV2 copy from a guy in Aus called Joel - he can be found on the wake winch forums...

Remember to make up a quick frame with the intention of destroying it and making a better one.... Your first frame will always be not quite right...

More very helpful info!
Cheers Rhys

Looks like I've got a bit of homework to do

Can you set these things up down the beach so you can run more or less parallel to the shore?

I've been looking for a grinch or urban rider supplier in aus also, anyone able to help with info?

Those banshee bungys look sweet, reckon you'd get over the pulling pretty quick tho lol

You can most definatly set it up on the beach or river wherever you want, Just make sure if you build 1 you set it up right with some angled pieces on the front like an anchor so when it gets pulled on it just digs into the sand

Like the 10th winch from the top this is what ours is based on and we plan on using it on the edge of the beach

Lots of pictures for you to get idea's off

Enjoy

Ridiculous winches have just started importing into Australia. The guy is based in Brisbane and has most of their range in stock...

Clint Mead <ridiculouswinchesaustralia@gmail.com>

Talk to Clint - he's the guy to talk to... from about $2700 i think...

We run ours on the beach all the time - just used one star picket - check this out:
