Sunday 5th December sees the return of the WAKSA Charity Downwinder, once again with funds raised going to Redkite - supporting children and young people through the cancer journey.
Prizes up for grabs this year include a 50" Samsung plasma TV for the kiter who raises the most funds; for every participating kiter who raises more than $200, there's the opportunity to win a brand new Mark Shinn designed Thruster (courtesy of Auspro Sports); and tickets to Kitestock 2011 as well.
To date, registered kiters have raised almost $5000 for Redkite. WAKSA members have got just over 3 weeks to go to beat last year's $13,500.
Two options are on the cards; Leighton to Scarborough; or south City Beach to Scarborough.
For those who haven't registered to raise funds but are keen to do the Downwinder, we will ask for a $20 donation to Redkite on the day.
Alongside Fremantle Volunteer Sea Rescue Group, Portside Marine is providing a support/rescue boat for this event and WAKSA recognises the generous support from both groups for the event.
SUNDAY 5th DECEMBER 2010 - Buses will be ready to leave from 1.30pm depending on the wind - meet at Brighton Beach Kiosk from 12.30pm.
Dig deep crew, this is for a great cause. We hope to see heaps of you on the day.
