Two reasons beginners should NOT learn at the pond:

1. Dangerous and stupid, onshore beach with trees and powerlines and people walking on the beach. No room for error.

2. One learner will block the entire flat section and stop 15 - 20 kiters from enjoying their session. I didnt realize this when I was a beginner (I wasnt learning at the pond at least) and I am sure beginners dont realize this now either, but at least listen to the experienced riders. Once you get a bit experienced you will understand.

We always listen to more experienced people in general, why does this not happen in kiting? Since when does a person who has done 1 day worth of kiting not respect the words of someone who has done 5 years of kiting? When you are learning to drive, do you not listen to your driving instructor and other people with licenses? And do you go driving on the freeway the first time? Dont think so.

Cutting lines, kite on beach, and letting down a leading edge to disable a kite for safety reasons are so far apart, why was cutting lines even mentioned. Shouldn't have been brought up 'cos if any line cutting ever went on you got criminal damage to deal with and that is a whole new level of stupidity and the most ridiculous "look" for kiting i could ever imagine. It is not much to take 5 mins out of your valuable 2 hour freestyle session, you are experienced and can educate these people without intimidation and bull****.
