I actually heard Lewis Back has been training in hiding for a couple of years now and is going to make his big return this year and wipe the floor clean. On a pulley bar and wakeboard to.

If the kickers and sliders are able to be hit in the main event it opens it up completely. Even I may have a shot. :-)
Bring on the big sliders kickers wakeboard and boots

Yes Dave, the freeride will be have a Park focus with at least one kicker and a 12m A-Frame/Flat bar confirmed. We are hoping to have a few more rails made locally and be available come start day! The format for freeride will be as per previous Coconets, get out and ride and enjoy Tannum Sands!

However:
The National's will be the main event with the priority given to getting a result in all divisions and access to the best riding zone. This year we will see a very close race in all divisions as there will be no Andy Yates (as mentioned), no Marine Sudre (womens), no Tom Ryan (juniors)!

The judging panel will consist of three well respected kiteboarders and two outstanding Pro wakeboarders. One of them judged last years Nationals, and is really amped on being involved again.

Yes, the word from the judges is power and style in all divisions! More will be delivered at the riders brief on the Wednesday morning.

As it is a freestyle event riders can if they choose and the conditions suit, make use of the rails/kickers in their heats.

It is going to be a fantastic event all round. Something for everyone! Park-Big Air-Freestyle Nationals - Freeride......yeah

If you are talking about the weird statement that it will be close because those 3 wont be there, i agree. Load of cr@p it will be close whether they are there or not.

Just a heads up to anyone thinking they caan compete in boots.... you can't.
This is a freestyle nationals, not the "wakestyle nationals" and you will be heavily marked down for not using froot loops and ajusting your kite height to max back to the future setting.

That being said i would like to inform everyone that i will be competing this year in froot loops on a 120cm board and i have switched my game plan to "Spin to Win".
After my Nationals victory i also hope to be competing in the next round of the PKRA tour where i will be taking lunch time to a whole new level!
So you better watch out, im a commin Andy!!!

Rowdy I agree with you fullly here.

The Nationals are always close, it was meant to read that some of the very best ranked riders are not coming. However rankings mean nothing and form on the day does. Anyone can win whether you ride in boots, froot loops, monkey straps or ride a surfbord! It was meant to read more like the comp wll be greatly contested in all divisions even with absence of those riders even tho we all know Andy Yates and Murine Sudre would have been strong contenters based on results!

Given the nature of freestyle. I have selected a judging panel that best represents all of the uniqueness in our sport (IMO). So whether you ride in boots, froot looops, monkey straps or what ever you still need to impress, and yes I agree with your earlier comment about TSBS5's, Pete Roses' and the like, I personally would love to see riders heating those tricks legit!
