Never knew that boats could fly between 11:00 and 2 O'Clock so well. Didnt get his kite below that even for a railey....
jury is still out
i think the title states: WAKE-STYLE not wakeboarding.
wake style Kitesurfing is just a take on another sport doesnt mean we have to do everything the same cause last time i checked we dont have a wake or a boat?
so we use kite angle? no. he is still using loaded lines/kite and pop ( not generating air by flying the kite through the window???)
I dont think i have ever seen a kite at boat tower height.
i think people need to relax about the whats WAKESTYLE and whats not WAKESTYLE topic.....
great movie would be good to see more footage of the kite aswell.
Not an angry post just sick on this WAKESTYLE topic.
Good Winds
I agree with you ROWDY.
Kiting is moving to dangle with a pass, grab and soon the'l be up long enough add a board off.
Me thinks it's about "styling."
Me needs wind.
Handlepass does not = wakestyle
To be honest most of those tricks were low cleverly diguised pull ups.
Not much risk envolved, just an empahsis in swapping the bar behind your back and landing it.
Wakestyle isnt all about kite height altough plays a large part of it, its the power and speed you go into tricks with. If the kite is above 45 any handlepass mose well just be labelled a pull up variant. The style on how you pass the bar and do the trick completely change and all the risk is taken out.
no wake style there, freestyle. not saying its bad but its not wakestyle.
to replicate the wakestyle it must not have the kite aiding you in getting hight, apply the 45deg rule as a guide.
still unclear.....
I think the 4x world champion who's been kiting longer than most people explain.
Aaron In Brazil..

Thanks Dave...., what a great vid love the place, music and there's styling. Like the way he stomps when landing the moves. Board-off coming...bet Damo could do it.
Would like to see the following in move: 2-3 spins, invert, kite-loop, handle pass, grab and board off......now for that you need a blimp with lots of float, or you are Hadlow.
You wanna keep your kite low...... "Endo KL" will make you famous as it's not been done yet and filmed as far as I know. Not wakestyle but soooooo hardcore.
An Endo KL: a mega kitloop that is pulled just slightly before the apex of the jump. This makes the rider flick up and then when the kite powers throught he loop the centrifugal force will make the kite end up way below the rider. I've heard of a few riders trying them but coming completely unstuck and ending up 10m in the air with slack lines or the kite flying upwind over their heads. As the kite flys fully low with full power you would get thrown foward and almost upside down.
I'm too old for this ****.......
Most spectators who aren't into kiting arent into wakestyle, they prefer rubenesque powered jumps/kiteloops......look at the crowd at tarifa.
yeh or the crowd at the nats lol, they hooted so good when ppl just did a boost. but so would most ppl who know nothing about board sports.
Spacey, you missed my point. I like wakestyle and have gone back to c kites this year to pull a few tricks. (even landed a front mobe first time I tried it-FLUKE...next attempt, did a hammy).
There's this thing called the PKRA. If they want the money...cater to the spectators who will eventually pay the bills... who are the spectators.... Look at surfing for a comparison. 4000 people (spectators) rock at some crap spot and try to rip in onshore **** waves...WCT was going broke quickly.
Move to the best surfing locations in the world, irrespective of crowds and get revenue from globalisation (videos). Name one kitesurfing/kitesurfing clothing company that actually has general brand recognition, compared to surfing companys...... Do you know the biggest growth and most profitable sub-businesses in surfing are now with girls apparel?
"Going into a trick like your trying to break the 50 knot barrier then hucking it with your kite giving you minimal lift is where its going to end up. Anyone that has wakeboarded or gone to cable before will tell you how much faster you ride and how much the stacks hurt more. Thats where it has got to go".
I serously want to see someone pull and endo kl, the height you'd have to generate and the g-forces will be like seeing Kelly Slater doing a reverse 360 at 13 on movies like Kelly slater Black and White (probably way before your time).
I wakeboarded for many years and used to drive down to cable water ski park when spearwood was the end of suburbia. It's one dicipline of kiting but NOT where it's got to go.
In 5-10 years time if the sport is to progress, guys will have copied wakestyle to death and will be more versatile.. Wakestyle, freestyle and megapowered jumps WITH STYLE, thats where its got to go.
As far as the recreational rider, enjoy what floats your boat and when someone like spacemonkey yells at you because your at "his" local and dangling, ignore the wranger....
wakeboarding is still progressing alot, kiteboarding has copied only the tinyest bit of wakeboarding still, im sure it will be a long time before we have learnt everything....possibly never.
p.s front mobe? you mean front-blind mobe?..... i would like to see that, i have never seen a proper one kiteboarding before.
Check out the video below that one

Aaron Hadlow on cable - no wonder he's so good on the kite...he would surely be someone who would know what wakestyle is and isn't
i think it might have been the other way around, i think he is good at cable form skills learned kitesurfing but ethier way wakestyle is wakestyle doesnt matter how good or sh#t you are, it just a classification.
or in my case ...
classiffication is sh1tpoomanstyle.
Not sure whether anyone is following my lead though ...
(At least not intentionally)
''he would surely be someone who would know what wakestyle is and isn't''
correct me if im wrong but he used to be a moon dangler up untill maybe last year. some of the people (in this forum even) have been onto wakestyle since day one and in my opinion would know a dic.kload more about what wakestyle actually is than hadlow. dont get me wrong he is the bee knees at freestyle. but yeah..... not wakestyle.
ps. wakestyle vs. freestyle arguments go no where and im sure everyone is sick of hearing about it.
Dave I mean where the wakestyle aspect of kiting has got to go, I don't yell at anyone on the water. I don't care what your doing if your having fun. I just meant I think kiting atm lacks the wow thats physco element that are in other extreme sports.
