gday
just returning to the sport after a six month break due to an ankle injury
I've got cabrinah Hydra bindings which are quite hard (the older white ones)
and i am feeling a little bit of discomfort when I hit chop the wrong way with that foot
has any one else been through this and or knows of a really soft binding on the market
I can see no disadvantage of using softer bindings
cheers

I haven't tried enough varieties to know which are the softest
but I can tell you that you want Naish Apex pads
they come with two different inserts so you choose the softness
and they are so adjustable and such a good fit they make everything easier

Boots will give you the best ankle support and cushioning for landings. My ankles were absolutely f**ked when I used to ride straps. Since I've switched full time I've had zero problems.

Quick question for those of you that use the apex bindings.
Since they fit and lock your feet in so well are they harder to do board offs with? It looks like there is a bit of a wall around back of the heel. Obviously can loosen them right up but then there might not be much support for everything else.

yes noodles there is a fine line, the first time I used them i had them too neat could have done a knee or ankle cause I coulndnt drop the board when i stuffed up but once I worked out the right tensions, absolutely superb pads and straps, if you want more grip than this then its boots I guess.

It's just how tight you make them. Back them off a little and feet come out easily. I have found them very very good too.

Drury is spot on tho. After a solid sesh of looping, I feel a little pain in my ankles. As soon as I take my boots off, I can't even walk. Boots just hold everything together.
