Evening all.
Looks like somenice weather and wind over the next few days.
Thinking of having a session somewhere over in Western Port Bay.
Anybody know of any good spots .
Taking the misses with me in her kayak, so hopefully somewhere that she can explore around also.
Please let me know where any good locations are and the best wind directions for each location, so that I can plan accordingly.
Thanks all.
(this shoul be in theVictorian section.....l I know..... Stop bitching)
Any where from Somers to Flinders, the main areas are Balnarring beach for calmer waters, sometimes it can even get super flat (low tide and SW). If you want tame waves then head to Little Balnarring Point or Big Balnarring Point, if you want something a bit more full on the try Pt Leo or Flinders. The Coast line works on SW, WSW, S, SE and E if you are as far down as Flinders.
If its WSW then just be aware that kiting to far into some of the bay's around Shoreham and Pt Leo headlands you may find the winds get blocked.
Yeh we found a cool mudflats flatwater spot at Jam Jerrup once. Was a bit of mud wading on the way out that was manageable but the water kept receding and we goy stuck in the bog. By the time it was frontal nuking and it was all a bad idea we had about a kilometre of mudschlog slide kiting to get back to the car. Wetsuit footstraps and harness was severely mud stenched and stinky pong.
Its funny how those stories are sometimes the most memorable.
Anyone kitted out at the point in Corinella just past Grantville. looks like a great spot loads of flat water
