Check out that butter flat secret lake never kitesurfed before...... didn't bother with it. Had much more fun riding the dunes.

October NZ is not perth weather that's for sure Eppo. But still warm enough for shorts and T shirt on occasions!.

Its a mix of customized buggies Paul. Mine is an old PL frame with aftermarket fiberglass rear axle, front leading link fork and beach racer tyres. Its seriously good fun. I give high wind buggying in the dunes as high rating as an epic wave or boosting session. Yes its that good!.

Yeah Cauncy i'm still around. In truth theres been less kiting and more mountain biking at the moment. Maybe ill swing back one day who knows?

Is that South Head? I've been meaning to do some exploring up around there, heard it's epic.

North head! Way more secret lakes. Watch out for the quicksand tho.

Hey plums, how do u reckon it would go with a pair of old snow skis and a kite on the sand?

i recon it would work in a slow melty kinda way. But if you have a nice wind up dune slope you can do some snowkiting like gliding! I've done this before on the landboard when the dunes are hard after rain. I've also done it a bit in the buggy. Buggy airtime needs to have precisely timed soft landings as you absorb any hard impacts with your spine!

Check this spot out for lakes Chris. They avaporate and change position each year so where exactly they are in a bit of a lucky dip.

I'm serious about the quick sand. Don't drive on anything that is dead flat above the high tide line. Stick to undulating terrain.

Woah far out I don't know if I'm willing to tackle that with my (limited) 4x4 experience :)

Will wait until I have a crew methinks!
Epic photos BTW, looks like an amazing trip!

A crew is good. Your lucky to get a couple of random fishermen a day otherwise your on your own.

Take a snatch strap, some slabs of carpet and a shovel. 80% of the time the magic carpet works 100% of the time!
