Hey guys what's going on with every one, I was out at Altona yesturday on my own in perfect 15knt South, Southeast winds.
As I was skimming across the water racing the cars on the Esplanard, I was thinking, this time around 1 to 2 pm 2 to 3 months ealier the beach would be swarming and packed with kiters from all over Melbourne but today no one. This has been going on for the five seasons that I've been kitesurfing.
Then I started making excuses for every one, like, it's a week day they are obviously working, but wasn't every one working a couple of months back.
Aha it must be to cold for them all. Then thoughts like chook's, Wimp's and Pussy's were coming up.
As I loaded up without checking if any one was behind me and launched for a ripper jump not worrying if I was going the land on any one I thought oh well just enjoy the peace and quiet cause in three to four months time all the weekend warriors will be back in the water and I'll be fighting for a spot on the beach to launch and land my kite.
So after all that I'm wrapt that I live in a city that hibernates in winter and allows me to have an awesome session on my own.
Yep I'll be out there today again in perfect south 20knt winds, with my 10m NRG just ripping it up on my own just enjoying the best sport in the world on my own.
Cheers guys and see you again in summer

Yep there are the softer dudes that have kiting "seasons". Then there are the hardcore truely dedicated individuals that forge on and kite year round.

Winter can provide some of the most exhilerating kiting. Sure a balmy 22 knots is nice. But a punchy 25-35 and monster swell. Oh yeah.

Not everyone is hibernating - have you been to rosebud on monday? There must have been more than 50 kiters enjoying the wind.

Unfortunately we have to work during the week and it's bit hard to get out on weekdays when it's getting dark at 5pm and you don't leave work till 4.

Really so no one works in summer?
Cause there's plenty of people out from 1pm till late in the warmer months.
Any way I made a few phone calls to some of the boys to get them out this morning two turned up took time off work, one couldn't leave work and one other that I land kite with and is between jobs, keeps telling me it's to cold.
I rest my case.
