Hi
Yesterday I've seen another fin in the water and swimming around.
I've switched to panic mode and I jumped outta water and I asked other kiters and they told me that they are couple of small sharks and they wont attack you.

On the other incident I cr@p my wetsuit because of a whale (I thought it's a big shark)

When am I legally allowed to panic?
Is there any special type of fin than I should beware off?

When am I legally allowed to panic?

When the fin is triangle shape and between 500mm - 1m protruding from the water.

Even then no need to panic because they normally won't let you see them if they are going to attack. If they are hungry they will hit you like a mack truck, it'll be out where the water drops away to the dark depths of the indian ocean. That way they can generate speed from below, it will be over in minutes.

That's my uneducated guess anyway......

You won't have time to panic.
Its the ones you don't see that will eat you.

Lots of sharkies around at the mo, seen about four small ones in the past 2 days in and around Scabs.

I read that all people killed by sharks attacks were recenty surveyed .. 97% ticked the "never saw it coming" checkbox.

That's about as funny as a shark attack.

be aware of surfboard fins, they will follow you everywhere and strike when you least expect it, and no you will not see them coming

Idiot.........first of all, there are too many people on the planet already, and secondly leave the sharks alone dam it. If you are going to use something for feeding to the hungry use camels, roos, rabbits, feral cats but for all our sake leave the fish alone.

Merry Christmas to the fish.

Great video fish lover.
I've done speed riding last year (bullet 09 speed wing) and I can promise you that I'm not brave enough to do that again.
That is one crazy sport which if you don't die by an accident you will die from a heart attack

Still cant beleive that I still occasionally freak at the large shadow in the water caused by the large kite above my head!

Saw a 5 ft Hammerhead at Leighton last season as I came over a bit of chop and he was probably only about 6-8 metres from me, it was actually awesome to watch him just swimming around slowly, I was cautious, but a hell of a lot calmer than I thought I would have been.
