sorry I couldn't find the unhooking section, is there even one? (Nub)

Ok I recently locked down my s-bends (took about 5 kite sessions to learn) so I can ride away from those now no problem. I have a back roll and a raley... I'm not sure where to go next & as soon as I rode away from an s-bend I was bored.

maybe s-bend to blind. I tried a raley to blind, clipped my edge and got head slammed I've got the unhooking bug now so need another easy trick to learn. Wanting to know what was your Progression or is there a natural progression/pathway from here. Something easy please

cheers wiski

Definitely get raley to blind and raley to wrapped down. Yes it hurts catching an edge but that's what teaches you how not to do the trick! Once you have that sorted you can start working on s bend and back to blinds. The unhooking bug is a good one

First time I rode away from an s-bend i was yehaaing and giggling like a little girl
first time I did a proper s-bend - flying through the air doing an upside down superman with my legs inverted - what a rush...

Is one thing being able to do one thing and another thing being able to do one thing well
Railey or backroll to toe side and then start throwing surface passes....

Yep well said! I've been concentrating on getting my legs up higher, more twist less roll! Like the sound of surface passes too.. Leads to a 313? That's definetly a stylie trick.
Good post. Cheers

Definitely work hard on those basics and get that sorted. I had to go back to basics and relearn because I rushed through it, as soon as I landed a trick I would move on to the next, with out getting it looking awesome. Took me till the other week to realise that a basic trick done well looks loads better then a more complex trick done poorly. Never forget that, I no I won't! !

So you reckon keep banging out s-bend after s-bend until I think it's 100% layed out. Then move on. That's my problem I get bored with the same old, I guess I'll get them layed out and in between practice my raley to toes and backroll to toes or downloop.

this is what Andy yates has said in an interview (i think in Kite mag) consistency is something that counts for a lot, build up your tricks. when you have the confidence in being able to throw it in any conditions with style you then for me i ride better as a whole, can link things together, try variations. i Think Ewan also had an article about htis in Kite mag, dont claim untill you can do it on point every time. There have been some videos up of late with people not riding away, rushing tricks and looking a bit gam where a super clean trick will look better.

Just my cent and a half.

Exactly, Don't just practice something till you get it rite, practice it till you stop getting it wrong

F16 is a pretty awesome trick and easy. Learned that one next after a raley.

This would be my sort of trick progression list, hopefully one day I can get to the end

backroll
backroll to toeside
s bend
railey to blind
railey to wrapped
blind judge

s bend to blind
back to blind
front to blind
s bend pass
blind judge 3
313
back to wrapped
s bend (invert frontroll) to wrapped

315
double s bend pass
back mobe
hinterberger mobe
kgb
s mobe
slim
Front blind mobe

Obviously this list doesn’t include toe side tricks. I think that this might keep you from getting bored lol

The basic tricks are the foundations for the next progression so its pretty important to have them locked down, also make sure you learn tricks both ways im regretting that now

Nice list saltydawg, although im only up to trying to do Blind judge. Cant for the life of me figure out how to grab the handle while in the air. Usually end up hanging one handed until I hit the water and if im lucky I can finish the raley to blind without a kiteloop.

invert more and you fall into the bar when you pass it, watch videos and you will see what I mean.
