I destroyed my original rope that the bar runs over, so I replaced it with some non-best brand rope. (A lot cheaper!)

However it seems out of trim now. Can someone who has a Best 08/09 bar please measure the length of the rope from the chicken loop to the trim strap?

I think i've made mine too long.

Thanks

The kite lines (front and rear) should always be equal length when the kite is power up (on the strap or cleat) and the bar is pulled in. Most manufacturers configure their kites to work that way now. No need to remember the depower rope length in future.

By 'power up' do you mean letting the depower strap all the way out to lengthen the front lines to their longest?

Then pull the bar in so the back lines are at their shortest.

Now whilst holding that if I had tied all 4 lines to a peg in the ground I should adjust my rope to the position where all 4 lines are exactly the same tension?

Yes, and yes. Let the strap out so the front lines are their longest and pull in the bar as if you were unhooked.

You could avoid adjusting the rope if there are knots where the front or rear lines join to the bar. I have them on mine to allow for line stretching.
