To credit the original poster and star of the show - Toby Braeuer (Kiteforum) just posted this. Check it out (if you're over 30ish...)

If anyone calls this 'Oldschool' I've got no problem being 'old'..

We will see a lot more 'old school'/ boosting projects in future.
Tom Hebert(North) is starting an old school film project soon. He does some wicked stuff in 15 secs hangtime..

Always thought it eventually would. But... Can we get elements of the wake style within a 15 second hang time. A cross over of both, now that would be awesome. Not sure if it possible though. Handle passes while spinning the board and body, landing to blind. Ooo yeh.

I like my arms, you have a vendetta against yours??

His a crazy mofo, and as far as the average Joe could tell, spectacle wise it rips on wake-style. Also believe it to be far more accessible, but if everyone was airstylin we would need more room!!

Also looking at it rationally, probably not the best move telling people to check the winds and then add 4-6m to the size there thinking about putting up... Love putting up the 10 for a boost sesh in 30+ but its definitely not a smart move.

The progression of kiteboarding as asport just stepped back 10 years.

There is a reason these moves no longer win competitions.

Anyone who has been kiting for a couple months can boost big, especially using a kite a couple sizes too big for the conditions.

Sorry have to disagree. Also with your last point. Boosting big, gaining actual air time and float, thought positioning of kite and looping is a skill set on its own. I do agree though that some of the moves were indeed somewhat gay. Just like kite racing as I just watched. Different skill set.

So racing, without any tricks or air, is that setting kiting back 10 years as well? Funny because trust is what they were doing 10 to 15 years ago in a way. And yet here it is in the Olympics.

Just ask Damo - its another of his 100 or so signature moves.
Dont know that Ive seen him land it to blind though.
Probably just hasnt thought of that option yet

Who the hell is Damo? Sorry for my ignorance. Deadman kiteloop, now that would be something if it finished with an inverted handle pass to blind, followed by a darkslide transition in the blind position. oooo yeh...

I liked it. It made me smile.

It suffers from the same problem as wake style. Once you get past the full on power moves the tricks are just froth.

Pointlessly twirling your board is just as pointless as pointlessly passing your bar. It's pointless. Get my point?

Those moves might not win competitions, but they would win every single person over, at any beach, anywhere in the world. Bloody Fantastic!

Yup i is with ya.

I would rather watch this live on a beach than the wake stuff. Mind you I am old.

Not saying wake is easy or pants, its just when its watched live you have absolutely no idea what just happened. (In slow mo it looks real cool)
