Best has a new C kite in 2016 that will tower above all kites to date.

The octopus system is fantastic in my view. Sure it's a little more difficult to repair the bladders, but it deflates far more quickly than normal LEI making a smaller more compact package. Never had a problem with em.

Used to see sigma kites on the beach up to 2 years ago. Now I never see them. I read somewhere Naish used the sigma design to avoid paying bow kite patent.

I think kiters were hesitant to adopt the scary shape.

Kite Brands need something to have a Point of Difference that makes there brand special, unique and use this as a marketing pitch.

I call it "Kite Fluff" some gadget, fancy name or something to hype up the kite that no other kite has. So followers think is must be better.

Carbon Fiber Leading edges ( Super strength and better performance, they went )
Ultra thin leading edges ( went also )
Sigma shapes, bumpy leading edges, batters, ( went )
Special ultra light fabric ( went )
Odd bumps in leading edged ( went )

I am looking forward to riding my 2016 kite with the following real features: Poly Load Frame, Dedicated Specific 4 Line Performance, Polyester Load Frame Technology, Sigma kite flex which enables the rider to turn the kite at ANY speed with absolute control, NEW Canopy Stabilizer ( better than the old one ) Radial Segmented Arc etc etc etc etc.....

my first and fondest memory of a naish sigma was one wrapped around the top of a mast on a boat at st kilda, haven't seen many since then

Has anyone seen this boat move? this and a yellow one seem to be magnetic for some kite brands..
