Yeah people have some crazy ideas about what their number plates are worth.

Did you know that Torana is aboriginal for the verb "to fly".

Which apparently means the mangled bogan verson "TWOFLY" is worth...

$250,000

I wonder if you folks having a go at this person, and their right to advertise some license plates for whatever they please, (and yes, you have the right to take the p1ss too) would be doing so if you knew who it was that owned the plates?
Most people from WA that kite, know him, and are extremely grateful for the excellent service that he provides, so maybe its just time to pull ya heads in?

how does the owner being a great bloke or otherwise command a premium of $10K for license plates? thats roughly 5 years worth of kites not factoring in any money back for change over

No ones forcing anyone to actually buy the item. If someone wants to pay the asking price than both parties are happy.
Pretty sure no one ever is forced to pay 10 million dollars for a piece of art. (or any other item that's ever for sale).
If something's for sale and your happy to pay the asking price, what's the problem? If you don't think it's a fair price, don't buy the item!!

An investment? Hmm at the rate of the economy the way it is now and post LNP budget changes, I would fathom to guess this number plate will be worth about .... $10 in 10 years.

And that would make him pretty smart. He gets the $5k. You think you got it cheap. He never gets pointed or laughed at but merely relieves dumb people of money. What a champ....

I don't think there are any plates!
Guys first post and a $10,000 item that he only posts to you once he's got your money. For 10k I would want to hold them before parting with the cash. Gees, he doesn't even have a photo.
Nup, fellow breezer taking the piss, or its a scam!!

Hi thanks for your interest in my plates.
However they were sold today via the pl8m8 website today for the asking price.
The transaction has been finalized with payment via paypal.
The buyer was a collector from Queensland.
If you want similar plates you may still be able to purchase k1TE
Not the same but similar.
Regards
Paullyp

Would you take 5k for the plates?

The fact that he even mentions PayPal screams scam to me!!!
