Yes unfortunately the minority(weekend bogans) have stuffed it up for all the people who love camping and actually respect the place. I have been involved in dune clean ups a number of times up there and its not unusual to take many trailer and ute loads of bottles and crap to the tip.
Its been getting heaps worse lately obviously because of the road. It just amazes me that people can show such direspect. I spose ** breeds **, if we were to look at the parents of the majority of em im sure they would act the same.
Back on topic, me and a few mates who helped build my shack used to scurf behind cars quite regularly up there 15/20 years ago. Even built a few specific boards for that purpose. Dont know about doin it in a fancy car like that though, we used to have old beach cars. Awesome fun when its offshore and hot.
Prob not the best place to do it up near the point when people are about but if no ones around early cant see it being a problem. We used to do it up near the surf/kite beach. can be hard on the body when coming off in the shallows one of the reasons we stopped doin it.
First time ive been up with the new road, First thing i noticed was a huge increase in bogged commodores and falcons aswell as other **** box road cars out on the beach and in the dunes, That road was the worst thing ever, back when you could only get up the beach it was great!!
Yep,been there,done that,great fun but the face slapper into hard pack sand under 10 cm of water isn't so much fun.
I packed it all in the shed now next to my skim board for the same reason
