Hi all - just looking for soem info on settings for he Wainman kites (Smoke) for waves - I have found that slow front setting and fast to second fastest rear seems to be the combo of choice - but my kites front lines have downwind and upwind settings not fast to slow - can someone point me in the right direction please?
Nice kites great fun in the surf... time to tweak it a little though :)
Cheers
Lance
Mate I'm no expert and don't know if others on the forum have some scientific answer for you but all I can say is that I ride a smoke and prefer the way it flys using the "upwind" anchor point. The so called waves we get at home are only really foot to foot and a half slop but the way I ride I prefer the "upwind" setting.
Also, not trying to hijack your thread mate but on the smoke settings, has anyone tried the C attachment points?
My smoke is the older one, so it still has the "slow" and "fast" lables. Anyway, the slow settings move the rear pigtails away from the rear wingtip (if that makes sense), i.e. fast is on the wingtip, slow is about 15cm forward.
Using this, you should be able to work out the corresponding "upwind" and "downwind" settings.
Hope this helps ![]()
