Wow how ****ed up is that, pretty cool though, if you timed it right you could do a 10k downwinder and end up in the same place that you started.
Hope it is like that next week I might be able to do a lap around one of the Islands.

The onshore reading is in the Port Authority harbour situated in a wind shadow.
It picks up wind blowing in an offshore direction.
The onshore is only reliable for NW winds when the wind gets into town beach, down in the pocket of Champion bay.

The offshore reading is pretty much spot on for Point Moore cause the point sits something like 5 klms out to sea and picks up undisturbed ocean breeze. Coronation beach can be good some days.

For other beaches in the area, you need to minus around 5 to 10 knots for the correct wind strength. Even though the wind will be lighter, it is solid and there will be more than enough for most at the awesome, safe, uncrowded locations.
