Due to the forecast being 15/20 max with BOM (remembering their safety margins), and the Seabreeze arrows just nudging 15 (which is probably the most likely outcome of the two), WAKSA have decided to cancel the bus lined up for this afternoon’s downwinder. The BBQ will go ahead as promised, and anyone with gear big enough to ride in such light wind will probably be able to find likeminded souls to organise a quick car shuffle with. WAKSA is collectively disappointed that we’ve had to cancel yet another downwinder, our track record over the last three years is a bit disappointing, but we feel there is a too strong chance of mass strandings with limited beach access if we try a long downwinder in the forecast conditions.
We will still come down and BBQ some snags and are keen to catch up with you for a pleasant afternoon at the beach, wind or no wind. We’ll be getting there around 3 o’clock, hope to see you there.
We're are going to meet at the Brighton Beach Kiosk. This way if the wind doesn't come to the party we will crank the BBQ.
