The Wedge Island Wave Comp is back for another year and in 2012 as in prior years, it doubles as the WA Wave Riding State Titles! The event sees more than 50 of WA's top wave riders competing in great beach breaks at Wedge Island. To ensure the comp goes ahead we have locked in a two weekend window November 10/11 and November 17/18. This year the event will run over two days to make for more competitors and a better run through the 40+ expected heats. Initial rounds will be held on Saturday, finals on Sunday. Lancelin is suggested for Saturday night and the presentations will be in Wedge on Sunday afternoon. The format will be four man heats, double elimination draw and the event will have Open Mens, Womens, Masters, Grand Masters, Amateurs and Junior categories - something for everyone! WAKSA appreciates Kite Addiction's support of the State Wave Titles for the third year in a row.

Detail on the judging criteria is available on the WAKSA website. To compete you need to be a current WAKSA member, so get your membership now if you haven't already. Spaces are limited and you must register online before the event - we won't be taking extra registrations on the day. Keep your eye on the website/ forum for more details and registration.

Further details can be found on the WAKSA web site under the events tab. www.waksa.org.au

Yeah that was a stuff up SQ, mine said the same, I let WAKSA know and they confirmed 10-11 Nov with back up dates 17-18 Nov.

Looking forward to it, hope there is a bit more wind this year though, somewhere in between what we we have had the last 2 years would be nice.
