Just wondering why there seems to be such a lack of participation this year for the Redkite downwinder?

I thought it was a popular event going from previous years.

What's the go, everyone?

It's changed twice, not been moved from the 3rd of March to the 17th of March

Maybe the lack of interest has been the factor in the date changes, hoping to get more punters to join in?

That was the first change of date/delay.

Later that was amended to the 3rd of March.

Check the Redkite page, it's now listed as the 17th of March.

C'mon, sign up on the page, even if it doesn't get run, the charity still gets benefit from the funds raised.

They care enough to red thumb, but not enough to make any real contribution to the discussion.

@Jimjones (and anyone else in the same boat)
I've wanted to do this downwinder since I started kiting, but this year now that I am able, I've resigned myself to the fact that it's probably not gonna happen for me, either due to the date being pushed back so far that the wind will be a no show, and the latest date change conflicts with something else I already am committed to attending.

Regardless of this, the fundraising is for a worthwhile cause, so I'll be pushing ahead and getting as many donations as I can, whether the event goes ahead or not and whether I can do it or not.

Now, if the donations weren't going to a charity, then I would agree with you.

The Red Kite Downwinder will be a goer.
WAKSA guys are fully under the pump with Kitestock at the moment so no space for later events right now.
Wind forecasts for Kitestock are looking awesome & my local contacts (probably at least as valuable this far out) are predicting strong Sth Westers all day every day from early morning on.
The fishermen are spewing = kiters frothing.
Could be our best wind year yet.

ps still looking for bodies to fill beds in real house accomodation. Ring me 0430 966 397

Righto, I'm in. I'm signed up.

The rest of you, pile in! Nothing to lose here and a great cause to boot.
