Hi to all the kiting ladies out there![]()
WAChickKiters Network (WACK!) is kicking off for 2009/2010, and again this year we are having a social and kiting event from 2pm on the second Sunday of each month of the season.
Just as a bit of background, these are casual BYO kitesurfing events designed to enable the fairer sex to get together on and off the water, and is suitable for all levels of kiters- we all know what it was like to be starting out!
Even if the wind god is not smiling on us, we usually have some no wind activities planned, so come along and be a part of a great bunch of like minded women.
Kids and partners are always welcome to come along and support the girls![]()
I am just putting together final arrangements for our November event-
The date is Sunday 8th November, the place is Pinnaroo Point, the time is from 2pm, and the event is being assisted by AustralianKiteboardingSchool and Angostura, our two most regular and appreciated supporters.
Pinnaroo Point is a flat to choppy water location, suitable for kiters from body dragging to advanced rider level.
You will find it near the west end of Whitfords Avenue- its the first beach turn off after heading south at the big round-about as you hit the coast.
We will have the WAKSA banners up to help you find us, and the WAKSA shade gazebo, as well as a cold eski to hold your drinks.
Don't forget to BYO drinks, food, and kite gear, as well as any family and friends who want to support you (yes, the boys are allowed to come along!).
Also BYO $35 (cash only) to purchase your own limited edition WACK! rashie.
Darren, and his instructors Lorna and Judith, will be on hand to offer local and general advice to the ladies, as well as access to check out a range of gear suited to the fairer sex.
Darren has recently begun stocking the Magic Maui girls harnesses and catalogue, as well the North Paris and Soleil women's boards, as well as his regular extensive range of equipment.
He has also generously offered members of the WACK! network a 10% discount on any purchases.
Finally, Darren and AKS has invited all the chicks to join with the Pinnaroo kiters to celebrate the start of the season with a beach BBQ from 6pm - BYO drinks and deserts/cakes- AKS is bringing everything else needed for the BBQ!
Duncan and Deb have come to the party as usual, promising supplies of Angostura Lemon Lime and Bitters for us chicks to refresh ourselves during the afternoon.
(I have it on reliable advice that come evening, if any are left, a shot or 2 of vodka added to the bottle makes for a very nice aperitif!)
If you need any further information, please contact us on wack@waksa.org.au.
Please let any other chicks out there know what's happening, and see you all there at Pinnaroo in a few weeks!
Good winds,
Nic and Jacq ![]()
