Hey Girls,
Yes it is that time again for us to get together for an afternoon of kiting and fun in the sun. This is the last event for 2008, so let's make it a big one.

The last event at Shoalwater was a great success with about 20 lovely ladies hitting the water on mass (the vibe on the water was awesome with a great deal of laughter and hooting - especially in response to some of the tricky menouves by some of the more skilled ladies, and the crashes by the less skilled!). Ben from West Oz Kiteboarding was there with lots of great demo gear and gave an informative talk on the local conditions. The wind conditions were perfect and the day was finished off in style with a BBQ and drinks on the beach watching the sun go down - it does not get any better!

The next event (Chicks Christmas Kite) is this Sunday at Woodman Point, at Beach 1 (see link www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=waksa&e=com). We will have a BBQ, eskies and ice, and a beach shade, so bring yourselves and your gear, and some food and drinks for the sunset gathering around the BBQ.and don't forget your favourite Christmas hat (there may even be prizes for the best!).
Graham from Choice Kitesurfing will be there from 2pm to give advice and answer all your questions on topics such as the local conditions at 'Woodies', reading conditions to assist in gear choice and safety planning..and a whole lot more. Graham has kindly offered to bring down some demo gear for all to try. For those of you that are in the process of buying gear or updating, this is a perfect opportunity to test and ask questions.

As always kids and partners are welcome to come along and support the girls.

Look out for the WAKSA banners and the kite sunshades on the beach before the main car park at Woodies.

BREAKING NEWS - Great news girls...the WACK! Rashies have just arrived fresh from the printer and will be available to purchase at the beach this Sunday. The rashies are available in two lovely colours (red and blue) and will cost $35 each, which I am sure you will agree is a very reasonable price.
Big thanks to Shannon Ducker of FreshWebMedia for her probono design work, Brad for organising production, and the WAKSA committee for their support with the rashie project.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.
Nic, Nina and Joy

PS our email address has changed slightly to wack@waksa.org.au, due to technical issues

Bumpity bump.
2pm Sunday 14th Woodman Point Beach 1, follow the banners.

I think we finally have the kite shelter sorted for both sun and wind protection- at least it was doing ok in 25knots at Mullers last night! Thanks Tightlines, beers helped with the engineering skills I think!

No worries Knickers,
Everyone is just a bit quicker than me this morning, I was just going to mention the new improved beach shelter, (maybe to many beers lastnight).
Don't know if the beers helped whilst we were constructing it but I enjoyed the beer we had sitting in it out of the wind after it was finished.
I will see if I can bring my daughter along on Sunday for a look as she needs an interest to drag her away from the computer (he says whilst sitting infront of the computer ).
