I'm going to be travelling to WA over summer and just wanted some ideas on the must visit spots around Perth and just north of Perth, as well as down south as I really want to visit Margs because its a legendary surf spot and I've surfed all my life.
Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Woodies seems to be quite popular

And the locals there really welcome blow-ins. The attitude seems to be "the more the merrier".

Well done Potter! Unless you like 5M sharks and people who break into your vehicle and steal the lot then i suggest you stay away from Woodies.

Heres another suggestion known as Disneys.

The bloke's comment in the picture above: "Fkya, ya c**t, I just shagged ya girl, stole ya spare kite, drank ya beer and pinched ya stereo from ya car! Now p!ss orf - this me favourite poseur spot and I want it all for meself."

Welcome to WA. Backward, expensive, abusive, selfish - but boy with wind n weather like this I wouldn't live anywhere else (ya c**t)

NOTE: the quote above - although strikingly realistic - is fictitious and not based on any individual, real or otherwise. Honestly..

I don't like stereotyping people... Maybe it's just because he's a Ranga...

Getting Serious on WA spots - Yea woodies is ok but bring your biggest mate to watch ya car.

Plenty of kiting form Albany in the south to Exmouth

Try - Margaret river for waves / safety bay to mullaloo for flat / or good weeks away try Lancilan - Dongara - Shark bay for beaches to yourself and away form the crowds here in Perth - thats what i'll be doing this summer

Thanks for the laughs and hints. I've been to WA before but never went South, this time me and a couple of mates all very experienced want to see whats to visit on the way to margs.
Seen the zoo at Woodies and agree its a great spot for kiting and car burgs have actually kited it a couple of times, might not even visit this time.
Had a couple of very helpful PM's, that might be a better way to help a fellow aussie out, rather than post it in here for all the world to see.

Regards

P

Go to Woodies offshore, especially if you are just learning. Experience one of the friendly locals rescuing you and your kite............a real WA souvenir.

Please, if you are just learning and/or haven't got a clue about self rescue, then kite in cross one shore (Woodies bay 1 or 2)............too many people without the skills testing the patience of the local rescue team.

As far as WA must do spots, only Woodies matters.
