Hi all. Any suggestions for kitesboarding lessons/schools in Vietnam (for beginners). I have seen a few in Mui Ne, but would appreciate any recommendations. We are thinking of going in October 2017. Thanks in advance ??
HI We did lessons there about 4 years ago as part of a longer trip.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for learning, very busy, fishing pots in the water, have to go out through a surf break, narrow beach etc. Probably depends on your background.
I would check the wind for October, it may be a bit early in the season, others will know (we were there new years day).
If you go I would recommend trying to get lessons on the more southern end of the beach as the beach is wider.
The Russians weren't very friendly and they seem to own that part of town.
Rest of the country is great.
If you are not Russian, I would recommend C2Sky. THat part of the beach is beginner friendly compared to farther up the beach where there is no beach, just a slanted concreete retaining wall.
Def Mui Ne, it has a localized weather pattern has wind. That being said, Mui Ne is not an easy spot to learn in overall.
Mui Né is definitely the go.
I spent almost 1 month there last season - great atmosphere, huge kite surf community, nice parties and bloody cheap!
Stick to VKS (www.vietnamkiteboardingschool.com/) - run by locals, very friendly staff, amazing atmosphere - you will leave the place with a buch of friends more.
Stay at La Casa del Latino - great value for money, close to VKS.
Eat at the Warung and grab some rolls with the lady in front after your morning session.
Have some Saigon beers (US$ 0,50 - happy hour at VKS) and Bia hois for me!

Asia is better for traveling in the rest of Asia, kiting is better in oz. The only thing I rate there is eating spring rolls & drinking beer dripping wet & covered in sand while watching the show out on the water..
I work at C2Sky kiteschool (www.c2skykitecenter.com/) which has a very wide beach, great instructors and atmoshere as well as a healthy nightime social scene with most students and instructors heading out for food and a few cold ones every few days.
