Ok I just got a look at the photo from the Water police , I is defiantly a NAISH AR5 11.5. this is a different kite to the air rush Darren is talking about.
This kite is from 2000, what KOOK took it to the beach?

Some kook who probably bought it on ebay or from an unscrupulous kiter needing to get rid of it.

Who launched him? Who sat by and quietly bagged him for owning such a sack of sh1t but didn't say anything to him?

We are all to blame for incidents like this. Let kooks know they are kooks, say something.

oops stop this is not a laughing matter

there are some crazy clowns(KOOKS) out there...

ok 8-9 years ago i made a similar stupid judgement on kite... was a 15m 2 line Wipi in 20knots +... launched as i had previous with my foils direct down wind... fisrt time with a inflatable kite... no one on the beach to help or guide... my point is, I like everyone else have made an error of judgement from time to time...

today 2009 is a total different story...

if you see a clown KOOK help them pack up there kite and guide them toward a knowledgable source such as Darren, Graham @ Choice, SOS the list goes on... Darren has just offered free self rescue lessons in another post... Working for Choice last summer i heard Graham offer so many times to help people only to be told they didn't need it, then we'd hear days later of the KOOK that had to be rescued, helped out or in some way assisted for their stupid behavior... If you don't know what you're doing 100%, ASK FOR HELP... MOST OF PERTHS KITE STORES GIVE ADVICE FREE! there are sooo many kiters around the Perth beachs now there is no excuse for seeing some kook trying to put up 2000 model jelly fishing death trap...

time to open your eyes to potential issues that could get the sport restricted or even banned... or worse still governed as hardcore as Darren is talking in the other post...

my advice if you are reading this planning to buy a kite on ebay and teaching yourself... fü(K... i can't even think of a nice way to say it!!! just don't!!!! for the future of this great sport... don't teach ya mate... don't try without lessons first... just don't even come near the sport untill you have been trained by a PRO TEACHER (Ya mate is fully sic but he is not a PRO TEACHER)

keep the airwaves free of KOOKS...
