The usual suspects were at it again, me, thekiterformallyknownascoil, waxhead, fatso, dingo, rathead and two very good looking euro chicks decided to harden up and do an upwinder, downwinders here have become a bit boring, way too easy. ![]()
So last sunday we lucked out with a 20knot southerly, launched at Torquay and upwinded to Lorne, took a good 5 hrs but the lorne hotel beer garden was worth the effort. Big thanks to tank for picking us up and putting up with our shyte all the way back. ![]()
Highly recommend upwinders. Anyone else done one lately??

5 hours of going up wind - sounds so exciting. And you did not even have to go screaming down wind at the end of it.
If it makes you happy thats all that matters![]()
Hey thanks highsakite, you were going that fast they are probably blurred ![]()
Meerkiter, fatso (now known as skinnyo) was first and he also did the right thing havin a round of pots lined up for us at the pub, what a guy ![]()
Upwind vs downwind, its a bit like whether your pot (schooner for the others) is half full or half empty ![]()
Was it straight up wind(tack tack tack), or more across the wind?... at least the story ended with a drink.. the appreciation of that is probably more universal.
Nice to see people doing something different!! I like my pot! oh half full half full!!
good on ya to skinnyo!!!
