Help!!
I Just bought a 2nd hand Naish Cult, and was dissapointed with it, I hope someone can help me with improving its handling. Problems are as follows;
1. The kite turns VERY slowly and needs a huge amount of bar movement, like a C kite would when too much depower strap has been pulled. It was just vague.
2. The kite bar needed to be turned inside out to get the kite to turn off the blue backlines, the bar was 90 and still was slow. If I dive it in I had to have the bar turned as far as it could to keep the kite from hitting the water. Also a problem when jumping on that side, I could get the kite to come back over my head. The reverse was happening on the red back lines, while jumping I'd be upside down and the thing would come back over head on auto pilot then dump me down ....LIT!!
3. For wave riding I couldn't get the thing to work, cause it steered so badly you cant one hand steer it.....gently so while the kite slowly climbs you can link a series of turns. I had to give it full noise on the bar to get it to steer, then as on 20m lines it floggs back up before you can get a turn in??
The kite is set up on 20m lines on the 08 bar with smart loop.
Not trying to bag it out, the kite felt like it had potential but just felt spongy and vague. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!
Hi,
You sound like being underpowered. Set the front lines longer (end knot), or extend the smart loop line (replace it with a longer one). I'm not sure what size you fly?? The big ones, 13.5m especially, are pig of a light wind kite.
The cults are not the fastest kites, but if you tune them right they are sweet. I have a 08 6m and 08 9m.
I hope it helps.
Keep shortening the back lines until it almost stalls when the bar is pulled in and the kite is at the edge of the window on a 12-13knt day to find the bottom end power. Also get yourself a set of 4-5m extension lines and your light wind will improve with this kite.
Yep mate wind range for me on a 12 meter 08 cult (80 kg 132 twin tip) was about14 knots an no less. I tried the line extentions but found it slowed the kite down too much, in the lighter winds, upside though is you have a great kite with a good top end wind range![]()
Wind range for me (80kg) on my 12m 08 with a 130 t.tip is 10-12 knots+
but can also do the same on the 10.5m (although its heeps quicker).
Get the Blue and Red lines in nice and tight.... you have got a smart loop so you still have a tonne of depower.....
Cheers
