Going on my first o.s. kiting dedicated trip. Any tips with what to take?
I have:
Golf bag
Rip tape
Almost New kite
New board
Booties for the reef
Helmet, although I don't usually use one
Impact vest
Short suit
Rashie
I'm thinking of buying another kite. What about spare lines? Spare fins? Bladders? Valves? Etc. any ideas would be appreciated.... Cheers. Don't want to be bogged down with too much stuff.
dont take helmet. its just a pain in the ass fitting it into the golfbag all time (used to use it to cover harness hook) but its not necesary for the size.
Pack as many kites as you can.
If surfboard, pack a spare.
If not, don't pack spare fins.
Leave the impact vest at home (weight is precious).
Leave as many clothes as you can at home. Buy them over there if you have to.
Use towel, wetty etc as packing protection for the rest of your gear...
Have fun!

Have you thought about getting your Mum to pack your bag ?
Drugs
lots and lots of drugs
when you get there ofcourse
don't take them with you
If going to Egypt, i would probably suggest an AK47, a few RPG's and several thousand rounds of Ammo. Also what ever you do don't say your a Journo ![]()
Sounds like you might need to take your mum.
Man, some of you boys should do standup.... You'd make a fortune.
Any advice re. Spare set of lines? Fins? Should I buy a spare valve? Overkill or worth it. Cab lines come in at over $200 a set!

you can't blame em, rolls. you haven't mentioned where you're going, what sort of kiting, how long etc.
if you go somewhere popular you can leave your pump at home & borrow one every day. if there are kite shops around you can buy spares. if you're going somewhere remote then you'll need to take spares. if you're going for a few days you won't need spare anything. if you're riding flatwater on a twnintip you won't need spare fins, but if you're waveriding a reef break somewhere you might need 2 full sets of spares. you only need half the clothes you think you do. if you're single & plan to go out you might need a clean pair of thongs and a toothbrush.
use some common sense. it's not rocket surgery...
