a mate was raving about Corpus Christi in Texas, the best kiting I've had in the US was at OBX, Cape Hatterass, excellent wind for the 10 days i visited. Can have endless flat water one side or waves the other. Florida is hot and humid so it has a lot of fluffy wind, but on a good day and warm water can be fun - on other days you might just get a hurricane.

Virtually no wind in Florida this season. You might get lucky whenever you arrive but personally I'd head straight for the carolinas. It's going to be a bit cold (49?F water temp in the outer banks right now) this time of year though. Maybe Texas will be your best bet?

I'll hit it in June. How is the water temp and wind in the Carolinas in June?

June can be miserably hot in the midwestern states. A living hell! Texas is the only state where I've been told by a very stern looking State Trooper: "Step outa' the car". Like in a bad 70s movie. Your blood runs cold. DONT BUY LEGAL WEED in Cali and try stashing it away for your trip, it's still probably a felony in the South. They have drug dogs and they will find it. They see outa' State plates and they hit them flashin' red lights. Why in the $hit would anyone voluntarily drive across the southern States in June? I must admit the Outer Banks has quite a reputation for clean flat water.

I'd hit Sherman Island (SF Bay Area) and save yourself a hell trip. Do your research in the Ikitesurf history for South Padre Island Texas, not been there yet but it favors the spring and fall: too hot and no wind during summer. Dunno about the Carolinas, but for sure the California and Oregon coast will be howling in June. Colder than a witches tit though. 4-5 mil wetsuit and booties. I'm a California boy and I don't like Texas, but South Padre and Chorpus Christi get really good apparently. Still wouldn't go there.

What I understand is that Texas works when it is HOT inland .Drawing wind in from the gulf, same as Hood river in the N west . Most of the coast from Texas through Florida and the up the East coast until Mass/R.I. is barrier islands /beach break and bay . A few piers, jetties ,inlets and river mouths but mostly shifty sand bars ocean side. Bay side /flat water is available but not everywhere . I have seen good Video of ocean side Charleston. Hatteras is warming up in June and gets fair wind then. If you get to NY give me a heads up ,I can get you on the water here . I'm not in the city LOL. Might not have a kiite big enough if you match your avatar .

When I did a summer road trip up the east coast, water was like a warm bath in North & South Carolina but got a bit fresher from about Virginia I think, so maybe a wetsuit for places north of Virginia & definitely for California.

for obx: it depends on the air temp at the time, the sound is pretty shallow so it can warm up quickly if it's hot out. i've always worn a shortsleeve shorty in june but know lots of people that just ride in boardshorts. i dont have much "natural insulation" so im always a little cold. speaking of cold, the ocean side is always freezing. wore a 3/2 full suit every time i rode in it throughout june and got laughed at by locals, but they are nuts

Hatteras in June. Warmest water I've kited. No wetsuit needed. Amazing spot! Flat water and wave sessions every day.
