Prob asking a stupid question....

I read on a past forum about what not to say on a plane........and it mentioned about not opening the valves on your kite??????

So what i am asking - When flying with Kite gear - should you Valves be open or closed????? I dont want to end up in FNQ with blown up gear.

Cheers ash

Leave them open if your worried about them pressurising at altitude.
To be honest i never thought about it when i've flown before... but i always leave the valves open.

There's nothing to worry about!!

The pressure decrease during a flight is only about half an atmosphere of change, so the air pocket would increase by half the volume. So, unless your kite is over half inflated at ground level (good luck at check in), there's no chance of any mid flight explosion!

Just leave the valves open to allow the air to equalise during the flight if your worried!

Lol I think you better steer clear of kiteboarding, at least for the publics sake.
