Doesnt look too promising...
im going to fiji soon and got some insurance through virgin blue - their provider is modial or something assistance. they sell 50 different policys through other providers so are the underwriters. now the bad news. after reading the fine print they dont cover any water craft - inc. kitesurfing. they dont cover sporting goods.
dont cover in the event of war or war like conditions - coup
and dont cover for medical treatment upon return to australia. will only pay for treatement at some dodgy place o.s.
so all the stuff i got it for they wont cover me.
baggage protection - about 9 dollars per flight will not cover any types of boards either...
In my experience ALL travel insurance is a major waste of money . . except for that 1 in a million time when you catch a rare virus and have to be airlifted 1/2 way across the world with a team of 12 docs attending you . .
...its amazing what injuries you can do slipping in the shower or falling down stairs. Most insurance policies cover stairs and showers.
Thanks. So it looks to me like the best you can do is get a normal travel insurance policy which excludes wind based activities normally, and join the IKO to give you insurance for injury and damage to third parties. The risk to yourself cannot be covered, so just dont try any unhooked double kite loops for the first time over there. Alternatively go for it, and pay your own hospital bills if something happens.
