Today I was refused passage on a Transperth bus with my kiteboard, since it has fins on it.

This is despite my purchasing a bag to travel with it in and making enquiries to transperth previously to confirm that it was acceptable to carry a kiteboard on the bus.

Has anyone had a similiar experience? I've probably caught around 100 buses with my board and had no trouble. One time a driver wanted to make sure the board was less than 6 foot, but that was it.

Anyway, I've got a screwdriver in my kit now, so I'll just have to tool around with the fins before and after each session.

Ive taken my surfboard on buses no problems. It was in a bag, but the driver didnt even look twice. Could have been to do with the bus route being a common one for people to carry boards on.

Been checking up, and apparently on this bus route boards of up to 2m are able to be carried; "Surfboards or boogie boards of 2 metres or less in length are permitted provided they do not impede passenger movements within the bus, obscure driver's vision or cause discomfort to other passengers."

So I've got grounds for a formal complaint by the look of it.

It would appear so, I'd probably say it was just that particular driver on that particular day had thier angry pants on for some reason. Maybe they didn't get any........ um...... er........ dinner the night before.

He was wearing a hair net, short shorts and suspenders. I think it's fair to say he's never had any "dinner" in his life.
