Townsville kite size etc

Hey folks pretty new to this but this site been recommended!! Ive had a few lessons in Brissy and am a beginner fit to get up but actually cruise along yet... Im about to buy a kite and board etc but not sure what will suit as Im movin to Townsville soon and heard wind up there is pretty average even kiteboardin could be very slim pickin!? any info would be brilliant.

come into our shop and we will give you some advise and you can try on some harnesses and stuff.

How much do you weigh?

Im 90kgs mate, Ive been checkin out yr webpage im not just in tv yet i move up in 2 wks so I will prob call in then. Is kitesurfing a big sport up there?

There's a scene up there for sure. In the loop will be able to tell you more but my guess is you'll end up kiting 3x the amount u would on brissie. Winter trades pump and there's plenty of seabreezes in summer.

Thanks rudebeef but does that mean I'll b fling a 20m kite? I was learning with a 12m here.

with your weight you be using a 12-14m kite mostly.
We get all kinds of winds from 10 knts to 30knts, mostly 15-20knts.
Summer with storms and Cyclones can get a bit gnarly with winds but you dont want to go out in those conditions as a beginner anyways.


FYI we just have 8 weeks of solid winds :)
