Im moving to Perth in January and trying to get a low down on the kite and surf spots in/near perth so I know where to base myself. Ideally looking for a place with waves so I can surf and kite everyday depending on the wind.
I know many of you may want to send me to other places to keep the local area quiet etc. I respect local laws and am a happy surfer, ill probably find a great spot after a while but hoping you can save me 6 months of being in perth. Happy to buy you a beer when I arrive if you can help.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Best bet for the likes of what you are looking for, is a place called Margeret River (3 hours South of Perth). Being a surfer, you've obiously heard this was Taj Burrow's growing up town - and there are very decent sized waves, & sometimes you get the wind just right as well. Can get plus 10ft. sweet as mate.
Perth is pretty much flat during the summer period mate, and, if you get waves, they're likely to be very small.
A popular spot to go to for a weekend or a few days, would be Lancelin (1 hour North) where you can get some good wave riding.
Else, as mentioned above, Scarborough & Trigg beach (5mins within proximity from each other) is your best bet for a quick 'wave' session.
