Am I that much of a lard arse that I didn`t find it a problem with my 12m? Used a smaller board though. I don`t do kite loops and all that kind of stuff (yet) so maybe that`s why I found it okay. But a good day was had. Could hardely keep my eyes open at work last night.

Generally, is there such a thing ?
When you see a 100+ kg guy go out on a 10m Torch - that's windy !!!
Fun, though !!!

It was soooo frustrating listening to the wind knowing i couldn't go out. So frustrating....

How do you guys hang onto 9, 10, 12 m kites when its a steady 25knots, and gusting up to 30.
Far out, i would have been struggling to hold my 6 down with the wind that was around yesterday. I guess being <60kgs doesn't help.

No! No, no, not a 5m kite! I said 7m!. Nobody's comin' up with 5m. Who kites on a 5m! You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.

7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 doors. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch.

It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office....

I could tell you, but that would be giving it away.

Some of us are just power freaks, and weighing 110kg helps...

I was buzzing from yesterday so much I couldn't get to sleep until midnight.

7 deadly sins?

I tried to fly a 6 once, no go. I think you're on to something with the 7 theory.

Hey Guys,

Don't get me going on about my 5m Light. I love that little kite, it's sooooo awesome. On a surfboard I can stay upwind in 20 knots on it and am still very happy in 40 knots

Seven is the magic number though. I could have taken the 7 Sport yesterday but chose the 9m Sport instead for a powered session. At 87 kilos (shed the winter layer already) I have no issue holding down a 9m, it was perfectly powered up. Only had to depower it about 2.5 inches of trim to unhook.

Sweeeeeeet kites [insert Homers' drooling sounds]

Good winds,

I was out on my Switchy 7m with a 142 FLX and was having a ball. I weigh 100Kgs so that's when I know it was damn windy

Great session though, just wierd trying to get used to a kite that handles like a terrier puppy on crack (I've been flying nothing but my 16.5 Contra for the past 2 years in the states).

Anyway, I'm headed out again today when it comes in, hopefully I can use the 12m Alliance that I've got now though

I was out on a 5m Vapor yesterday and had a ball. I had to work the little beast, but I could go up wind and as far as I can tell that means I was powered.
Why would you fly a bigger kite than you need?

Half your luck Kitehard, that would have been nice to have had a spot to yourself yesterday. Good wind and good session until I snapped my leading edge.

I find anything less than a 7m a little bit too twitchy. No hangtime blah blah blah-d blah blah and there is "usually" some work required.

The 7m *for me* seems to be just right in the speed department without feeling like a trainer kite and fills the range(using different board sizes, surfboards etc) of 15-35knots.

btw i also don't like 9m, but thats more bull** for another post.

Anything smaller than an 11m is too fast even on a 13' bar.

Jeez sandgroper with post like this combined with the whinging all winter about the lack of wind is painting us as a bit of a spoilt bunch over here.

I am adding a 7M to my quiver very soon. It sucks not being able to comfortably go for unhooked tricks when its blasting 25knts+

Last season I had so many days that I wised I had a smaller kite. Time to get saving...

if i can get out tonight it will be 5days in a row i only had my 13 mtr sport last night so that was a hoot boosting !!!except the crowd at cott is a bit of problem at times, i think it would be great if every one did a bit more of a tack out to sea to keep it thinner on the inside only a suggestion
