Well since we are sharing stories. Here's mine from today.

I have a sweet session on the 12m chrono. Bump and jump In some small waves. wind is maybe 14-18 knots.

I like to finish up a session on a nice jump. So I line up some boulders jutting out of the water. (I've been eyeing them up to jump for a while). The boulders are about 40-50 meter out to sea and I'm going to jumping headback toward the beach.

I line up the biggest boulder maybe 8 foot round and boost over it. Its a sweet jump and the chrono punts me nice and high clearing the boulder. But I travel quite a way past the boulder towards the beach and land in the shallows maybe ankle deep? The landing is sweet. The chrono floats you down soooo nice.

BUT here's were it goes wrong. I've chucked the chrono quite deep in the window to get that pillowy soft landing. So it then starts to power back up once Ive landed. Once she starts powering there's no stopping it (apart from pulling the safety which I didn't even think about at the time) Alas there's not enough water left and simply blaze into the sand. The board digs in and I pirouette down the beach on my back. At some point I loose orientation of where the kite is and must have pulled on my back hand and send the kite across the window. So now I'm superman teabagging in the opposite direction until I crash the kite.

Amazingly I suffer no injuries and neither does the kite.

Yeah I can imagine this one Plums. Glad you're ok though.
I went for a sweet session last weekend and took off about 2km before the "official" take off spot and kited to the crew and back with a huge smile that I was a loner. But when I got to shore to land, I accidentally pulled the back hand and the kite sent me up into the stratosphere about 50m from a row of trees!
Luckily I went up and down pretty much on the spot, and landed on soft warm sand. Phew.

My story.1- Trying a new trick, caught a serious heal edge, snapped my leash. Had to swim to 100m to catch up to the kite. Just got it before it got caught in the mangroves.

2- Tryed the same trick, caught another heal edge and pulled an insert.

Yesterday was expensive.

You're a wake boarder at heart.

Nah, not the leash it's self. The best GP leash is super thick. But the release bit, I've snapped 3 times. Then I had it so there was no quick release (don't recommend EVER). And snapped the spectra that connects the leash to the clip.
I really like the best GP leash. But the quick release is dumb

Hate to say it Plums, but you deserved that, for your "why throw the QR?" stance. When you landed in the shallow water near the beach, you should have thrown the QR and avoided all the shenanigans thereafter...

Glad you're ok. But next time, do the right thing.

I've had a carabiner snap or shear in half. The leash held... no photo but instill have it at home somewhere,
