man that's lucky.
I had to do a self rescue yesterday after an "equipment malfunction" about 300m off shore. so I connected my leash to my boards grab handle, so it would just trail behind me and I wouldn't lose it. That frees up your hands for the self rescue. Luckily it was very onshore conditions, so I sailed right to shore in about 5min.
a mate of mine lost his board in Bunbury and it was later found by a fisherman off Rottnest !!
Fred, you still riding that old Airush board I gave you ?
... lucky you! I got blown off my board, hit with a gust and too much wind in a cross-off wind, thought it was just behind me, nothing.
Spent next hour cruising up and down looking for it! Lost foreve,r or more likely some one found it but I didn't have my name on it
Taught me a lesson though!
Good story dude,
cheers,
Robbie
