Thanks for the people who helped me last night after my stack. Especially to the guy and his girlfriend who landed my kite (whilst I was squealing like a baby) he then CARRIED me through the sand dunes to his car (72 Kgs) then drove me back to my car and sorted me out. To Chris who gathered my gear and stopped with me until daughter arrived. People you are legends and I cant thank you enough. Got out of hospital last night 10 o'clock going for scan today but they were pretty certain I've snapped the tendons and torn my hamstrings. So maybe a whole year out !!! Cheers Paul

What happened? If you don't mind ![]()
Was riding toeside done a little hop to get back heal hit a wave that pushed my board up. board span round to be side on and edge in the water, my back foot slipped out of binding sending my leg deep into the water but front right foot was trapped. The slip cased me to pull on bar hey presto over extension of hammy of trapped right foot. It felt like id been shot at from a Blackhawk cannon. Ditched the board and luckily the kite had behaved (as always North Rebel very safe when **** hits fan) so managed to drag myself to beach. Woodies 1 is also very forgiving in such situations. At the beach was like a harpooned seal with a kite attached, but again North Rebel solid as a rock and I managed to land kite from kneeling/lying down position in agony in 25 knt plus wind. Rest was down to lovely people. so again, big ups to them.
Cheers Birdie
Two hours surgery and now eight weeks in bed. Should go down like a **** sandwich at work
The moral of the story...and we all know it......,when **** hits the fan, hands off the ****ing bar. You can always relaunch.
