Iconic Lifeguard of Nobbys beach fame Warren Smith is hanging up the budgie smugglers ( sorry Smithy couldn't help myself , I should say his hat). Newcastle liters have had a fantastic relationship with the lifeguards and smithy in particular with few incidents and quite a few rescues by kiters of swimmers and surfers in trouble and the odd kiter myself included helped on the odd occasion . Make sure you drop in on smithy ( woops poor choice of words there ) before sept 19 and wish him well and thank him for making a massive contribution in keeping not only Nobbys safe and open but the all the other newcastle beaches
