Hey Guys, I've just booked 2 and a half weeks in Thailand from April 7th to 25th. I did a good search through older posts and got familiar with most of the well known kiting spots over there.
Looks like April might be a bit thin on wind though, so has anyone kited Thailand In April??? Any spots to recommend for that time of year?

As most accounts say they wind is pretty light in April I'll be packing a 13m Best Bullaroo, and am considering taking my old school 16m C which hasn't seen the light of day in a year or two!

I'm going to try and avoid the more touristy spots, but will basically go where ever there's wind!!

Loader,

Post how you go over there as I will be there for all of May with the last two weeks around Krabi area and willing to travel for a kite - though Im not holding my breath for any decent breeze

loader,

April is the end of the season but you might be lucky, Hua Hin or Pranburi (less tourists) would be your best bet or Pattaya if your on the other side of the gulf. It's low tide that time of year so bring some booties and expect very warm water, warmer than piss; more like a hot cup of tea. Bring the 16M and the biggest board you can find.

Buddha,

May isn't great but you might be able to ride some storm wind in Phuket or Samui, there are some nice waves in phuket also

Sounds like the 16m will definitely be making the trip, I only have a 136 wake style board so might have a look around to see if I beg or borrow a bigger wave style board for the trip.

Will definitely update this thread with how I get on, hopefully according to murphys law if I take my 16m it will blow 30 knot gales the whole time I'm over there and I'll have to rent smaller gear

Open to any other location suggestions too!

Hi,
Been to phuket last three years in April. Going this year again.
Never had any wind while I've been there - just a big gust before it starts to pour down.
Spoke to guys ive seen at airports they dont seem to have much luck either. The cable park is ok.
