Hey guys, i'm heading up to shark bay in december and will be spening a few days at tamala station. Has anyone kited there? Preferably somewhere not too shallow so i can boost without breaking my legs. Also, where are the best spots to camp?
Cheers guys

Yep we had some of the windiest sessions ever there, it funnels up the passages, very rocky so hard to find a good beach to setup and launch from. We took a jetski so had access to some of the beaches over at carrarang station, look for the small island with the goats on it North West of Tea Tree if you have a boat, we kited mainly to the south of that. We camped at Tea Tree. Watch out for slightly sand covered reef and Stonefish. Have Fun. Its gunna be Hot.
I used to go up to Dehnam every chance i had but after one trip to Tamala Station i'm never going back to Dehnam!!!! Tamala Station is kitesurfing paradise heaps of wind perfect warm flat water and no other people for hours.
You have to bring your own everything! food, water, fuel, first aid, firewood (altho i think you can still get some free fire wood from the homestead up there).
Make sure you pick the right camp spot tho because most of them are on the offshore side and no good for kiteing as its too gusty.

Above is a google maps link of where i stayed. It is the best place i have camped for kiteing EVER!!! you wont need to deflate your kite the whole time you are there as you are launching and landing right in front of your tent. We had wind from sun up till sun down with a bit of a lull around lunch time each day we were there.
Clarey i saw on your profile that you are only in port kennedy. if you want any more info feel free to pop down and see us here in Mandurah.
Cheers

Cheers guys, i'm really excited now! I've checked out a few spots that look like they would be fantastic! We will only be there for 3 nights on the way back from exmouth. From the sounds of it we would probably rather a week!
Is there any shelter from the wind in any of those areas?
