To all those interested in making the trek to Merimbula come November, what has till now been known as the Mambo, will this year be renamed.
We know, we know. It won't be easy to get used to and Mambo will still be involved.
Corona are saying that apart from the sponsorship they will be setting up a bar on the beach that you can stuff your lemons into after a hard day wave sailing, kiting, supping or tarp surfing in the car park.
Some of the details are yet to be finalised by the MSC but the involvement of Corona has been confirmed.

I am in training for this event already.....I have worked my way up from a 6 pack a night to 12 tinnies and half a bottle.....should be able to survive 5 nights of madness if I continue my training regime !

I just got given some photos from last weekend- let's just say that we are going to dress someone in gold spandex undies and play big buck hunter with a water balloon slingshot !!!!!! Come on Corona.....I might as well take the next 2 months off cos I already can't concentrate at work.....
To those of you already in training for the annual pilgrimmage to Merimbula in November and to those of you about to embark on that most rigorous of training programmes required..........
Our fearless director has just returned from his fact finding mission to Mexico where he secured the association between the MSC and Corona for the 2010 festival of decadence once known by the tribal name Mambo.
His travels took him to the deepest darkest tombs of Mayan Kings and then to Puerto Escondido where he met a Mayan witch doctor versed in the ancient traditions.
The witch doctor told of the ancient Mayan tradition where they surfed and sailed and paddled ancient longboards in the waves. Where they drank and ate for four days and the rivers of the gold flowed free and cold.
He told him of the histories handed down from time immemorial. About the rivers of gold and the tequila worm and the visions that appeared in a peyote induced trance where bikinin clad nymphs served the gold on a huge inflatable island and they called it 'fiesta isla'. He awoke with a start..............

First things first. Had our first sou-easter of the season yesterday that would have kept everyone but the suppers happy. Even they would have had their fun in the morning.
As November draws near the preparations gear up and to this end MSC met last night and the finer details of the involvement of Corona are being finalised.
At the meeting it was unanimously decided by Henry that there would be a t-shirt competition on the Saturday night. Yep another one.
This time the MSC is asking that competitors bring the oldest Mermibula/Mambo competition t-shirt in their collection.
Whilst there were some vague suggestions that t-shirts will be taken out of mothballs from as far back as 1984 and 1986, someone out there might have a t from even earlier.
So if you do, bring it with you and impress those of the opposite gender. Or if you are into the gold spandex undies you might want to impress those of the same gender. Who knows. You might even win a prize.
As usual, plenty of judging will be done in the pub and the Bowlo this year where we will be having the Saturday night. Bribes will be accepted by the judges. That is beer before 8 and bourbon after 8.
So keep up all the training. Anyone looking for a training regime should pm Loverboy. Get yourself a pair of gold spandex undies and get ready to accept your punishment.
