Thanks I was leaning towards the 9 but sounds like 8 would be better I assume so I can cover high winds and also be a real nice kite in the surf. correct?

I'm thinking the 12/9 is the nicer quiver.

12/8 gives the most range and is the quiver I had. The overlap is a touch small but not too bad. You tend to be riding the 12 a bit too over powered a bit too often. If you are good at underpowered riding then you can get on the 8 in just under 18 knots.

12/9 gives almost as much range but a better overlap. You can get on the 9 a bit earlier and a powered up 9 is way more fun than an overpowered 12. The 9 will be a tad overpowered above 30 knots but you will be able to go into orbit when you cut loose.

I now have 13/10/7 Xbows. The 13 and 10 get heaps of use. The 7 not much use at all. I'm still glad I've got it when I need it.
