Have a read of page 47 / 48 of the stakeholder engagement survey.

From the report:
There is also considerable contention as to whether kite surfing is actually a low-environmental impact activity due to space needed for rigging and impact of fins on shallow areas, and that wind and kite surfing may need to be considered separately.

Also that we can't self regulate and we should be considered as vessels.

Seriously?

The Swan Estuary Reserve Action Group (aka "Environmental Focus Group" ) have it in for kiters. All retirees with no actual information about kiting but a whole lot of time on their hands. It would be interesting to know if anything they say at these government forums is taken seriously. Is WAKSA still going to these things?

Don't read the engagement survey in isolation. Read the report and the summary of the survey, appendix A.
I think WAKSA seem to be on top of it.

Thought the govt axed the swan river trust ? or is going to.

Well there you go.
The rest of the parks and wildlife in WA seem to be managed ok, so I'm sure the Swan is in good hands. I suppose that WAKSA will stay in touch with the new governing body.
